Friday was Jason's birthday and unfortunately our day to leave home. Mark took Jason out to Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch and had a great time chatting it up with whatever pastors talk about:-) I finally got everything packed and ready to go. Erica and I went to Sonic for their Happy Hour drinks and I got my most favourite drink - the Cherry Limeade. As soon as we got back, it was time to go to the airport. We had a fantastic vacation together and a great time was had by all. A huge thanks to Jason, Erica, Olivia and Easton for being such great hosts. We really appreciate and are thankful for all of the work that you put into this past week to make our vacation a great one! It was great being with you all.
My mom sent out an email on Thanksgiving that sums up our time together perfectly:
"Good morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving. We hope you all have a good day with family & friends. We are down with our family at Jason & Erica's and having a great time with the grandbabies. We realize how old we are when we try to keep up with them. Olivia & Kaley are getting along real good, but they have their times.
We have been busy. One day Joel & I took the girls to an inside play area for a couple of hours, then took them to lunch. We had a family picture taken, did fondue one night and went to an Italian buffet last night. We toured the Nazarene headquarters, went to checkout the college where the kids attended, Joel, Mark & Brenda went to a bar-b-cue for lunch, Brenda, Erica & I went out for lunch, the guys went out for lunch, we opened Christmas presents and had Thanksgiving dinner today. Jason is in the kitchen making pumpkin pies right now. He offered a free pie on his Facebook for the person that sent him the funniest joke. He makes the pies from fresh pumpkin, not from the can. They are so good.
The girls seem to think that my cosmetic case is a treasure case. Everyday they have to inspect and try the different items. Sometimes they end up looking like a clown, oh well, I can always buy new items.
Mark, Brenda & Kaley fly out tomorrow for home. It will seem very quite around here.
We are thankful to God for his faithfulness to us even when we are not faithful to Him, for our families and friends. Have a good day and don't eat too much.
Love Joel & Grace"
